Mid Season Review – CYFC U12’s Youth

The boys started off in section 2 this year way back in September. They started off with a few thumping wins! They beat Seagoe 6-1, Loughgall 9-1 & Lurgan celtic 5 nil. They had a bad day against Riverdale and got beat 3 – 2 in a game we really should have won. We got back to winning ways by beating Portadown 4-1 and Armagh City 2-1 which seen the boys finish Top of their league.

We faced Moira in the NIBFA cup and beat them 4-2, which set up a derby game against a good Dungannon National league side. We started very nervous and gave them way too much respect and seen us going in at half time 4 nil down. The boys got stuck in the 2nd half and pulled a goal back and maybe should have scored a few more, but the match finished 5 – 1 but a very good 2nd half performance.
Currently the League Cup is where we are at the minute, weve played 2 games and won both, by beating TTBS 4-1 and Portadown 2 nil. Currently we are top of our section but a lot of football to be played between January to March to see where we finish.
Ideally we would love a trophy of some sort, be it cup, shield or plate, we aren’t fussy lol. We got knocked out at the Quarter finals last season so if we could get to a final we will definitely be happy with that.
We are looking forward to Blackpool in 2024, it should be a great experience for both the lads and the coaches (and our travelling supporters).
