Niall Hunter Looks Ahead With The Seniors

After 8 to 10 months of planning we had our 1st pre-season  last Thursday and with over 20 players from the 18s and 1st 11 squad it was a really good turnout, We have set out our plans for training nights and I was  really happy with how it all went for the 1st night. The squad’s will grow in size over the next few weeks and competition for places will be good. We had a very good mix of experienced players and  young lads and this is the sort of mix I was hoping for in this squad. Going by what I have seen tonight,  the lads all want to be here and all want to work hard and be part of what we are striving to achieve at CYFC. I know it’s going to take time and we will have good and bad days on the pitch with results but that comes with all levels of football, a lot of hard work from the management, coaches and players will be needed to get to where we want to be but in time with the same attitude and effort I seen put in from this group we have  started off in the right direction. We want players that are willing to work hard and be part of this Club and look at it as their owe Club, their team, their Badge,  somewhere they belong and want to make stronger, If I can create that from everyone we will make the team and Club Stronger. Most of these lads have spent 10 or more years with CYFC and I want to see them be with CYFC all their playing days. We also want a Club that players that have maybe not played with us at youth level to say, yea that’s a well-run club and I want to be part of that.

Our 1st match is on the 18th July at Musa and this will be good from me to get a look at them playing together for the 1st time.
