Cookstown u13 7-0 TTBS
Cookstown were handed a home draw in the NIBFA cup where they entertained TTBS. Four goals inside 12 first half minutes had the game over early on. Shea O’Hare and Michael Forbes traded goals that included some fine individual play as well as team build up while the next 18 minutes of the half was a case of poor finishing and good goalkeeping. The second half started in the same way as the first as Callan Devlin grabbed his first of the season with a bullet header while Matthew Donaghy also opened his account with a sliding tap in at the back post. The scoring finished two minutes from time when man of the match Sean O’Hare picked out the run of Callum Murphy who slotted home calmly. A good win and a tie away to Ballymena to come. Thanks to all who provided food for after the game; it went down a treat.

CYFC 13s (MUYL) v Lurgan Celtic
CYFC started the slower of the two teams. Within ten minutes they found themselves getting into the game with chance after chance. 25 minutes in and Armstrong got on the end of a great pass from Darby which went into the top corner 1-0 up going into the break.

Again CYFC started slowly and found themselves level with poor defending.
After the wakeup call Darby found the back of the net then another from Armstrong. Darby finished with a very well taken penalty.
CYFC u16s 0 Ballywalter 2
Last Saturday in a rare home fixture the young sizzlers faced SBYL Premier side Ballywalter in the NIBFA Cup. On the 3G at MUSA Cookstown could have been two up in six frantic minutes. A great run and cross by Lee Glasgow was blazed over the bar on two minutes by Thomas Mackle. Glasgow then drove just wide 4 minutes later as Ballywalter struggled to settle into the game. The Ards team grew into the game midway through the half and struck the woodwork on three occasions with Keelan Gault in goal pulling off two great saves. Captain Iarlaith Donaghy went close with Shane Murphy testing the travelling keeper from distance. Fernando Silva then tested from distance. A great free by Murphy was nodded towards Dean Bigger by Donaghy but he spurned the chance just before half time. Into the second half it was end to end in a fast paced game. Again Gault was called upon to make several saves before Ballywalter took the lead on 45 minutes from a corner. Mauricio Mauro, Jake Fraser and Piotr Gabrysiak entered the fray as Cookstown added another striker to try and get back into the game. Unfortunately this change allowed Walter the space to drive home the second and match winning goal. Unfortunately the gamble didn’t pay off and Walter headed into the third round. Despite the result the coaches were wholeheartedly proud of the boys overall performances and commitment throughout the game. Apologies to the two lads who didn’t get on at the end. Thank you to the boys and parents who supplied and helped with the after match refreshments and to all the supporters on the day. Now to refocus on the Mid-Ulster league.

Cookstown youth seniors started the livelier of the 2 teams. As early as 5 mins Leslie cut through the midfield and shot from 20 yards out but his effort was well saved. Barrie Kelly was making use of his missile throws as they were causing the Rockview defence alot of trouble. The first golden chance fell to Glasgow , when from some delightful football between O,Neill and Megarry they created an opportunity for Glasgow nd with the goal at his mercy he managed to push the ball wide. Glasgow then gave O,Neill and opportunity to score but the left winger squandered his chance also. Rockview were happy to absorb all the Youth pressure and hit the local side on the counter attack. It wa one of these attacks that the visitors should have scored . McHewitt sprung the offside trap but he too placed his shot wide. A kelly throw was flicked and Megarry headed towards goal and Rockviews Fearon cleared the ball using his hand . the ref pointed to the spot and sent off Fearon. Megarry placed the ball and made no  mistake in placing the ball low into the bottom corner of the Rockview goal. With Rockview reduced til 10 men CYFC were now looking very comfortable on the ball. McKenna in was totally dominating the midfield but it was his partner in the mid that extended the scoreline. Cutting inside from the left wing Glasgow curled a shot high into the top corner of the Rockview goal. This seemed to open the flood gates to more goals. Keifer Scott who has been in a rich vein of form provided a cross to Megarry and again the big man blasted into the goal to make it 3.0 to the local side. Rockview not were besieged in their  own half as it was just wave after wave of CYFC attack . With half time approaching Megarry got his hatrick. Several shots were had at goal on the one attack but again the ball fell kindly to Megarry who again shot past the Rockview goal keeper giving him no chance and sending the local team 4.0 at  half time to the good.
CYFC continued the second where they left off in the first with attack after attack. CYFC in the 50th minute were undone by the counter attack of Rockview. Horsfall sprinted down the right wing and stepping inside Leslie and McEllhatton he curled a superb shot high past Ben Young in the CYFC giving him no chance. Having conceeded a goal CYFC stepped up another gear. Cookstown held the ball well and just pasted the ball about carving out opportunities for goal attempts. Adam Keane was piercing the Rockview defence with his darting runs down the right wing. Larmour and Arell were brought on and placed on the wings and they immediately had an impact on the game. With the youngsters conecting well it was Keifer Scott who deservingly got himself onto the score sheet when he from just outside the box hit a bullet of a shot that rattled the back of the net. With the game over as a contest Junior Dardis was introduced to the game. The pressure was relentless from CYFC with Larmour, Scott and Arrell all having chances to get onto the score sheet but it was Jordan Glasgow who finished the scoring with a looping header that deceived everyone in the Rockview defence and the goalkeeper which made the score on the day  CYFC SENIORS 6 ROCKVIEW UTD 1.
