Ballyvea Just Edge Out U15s

CYFC u15s 2 – Ballyvea FC 3

Cookstown Youth U15’s played Ballyvea FC at Kernan Playing Fields, Portadown on Saturday. Cookstown started strongly, creating several chances and took the lead when J.Smith headed home from a J.Young corner kick. Cookstown kept up the pressure and scored again when M.Ekiert played in J.Smith who scored his second. With Cookstown in the ascendency, they should have gone further ahead and would rue these missed chances. Ballyvea pulled one back with thirty minutes on the clock and scored again just before halftime from a deflected shot that looped over the keeper. Both teams were evenly matched in the second half, but it was Ballyvea who took the lead after ten minutes. Cookstown pushed forward searching for the equalizer and won a penalty kick with five minutes left to play, but were unable to convert it. With time running out Cookstown continued to create chances and went close when a goal bound shot from C.Ballentine was cleared off the line.
