Under 12s Beat Local Rivals

CYFC u12s 3 – 1 Dungannon Youth

A bright Saturday morning at MUSA saw the first local derby with the CYFC Under 12 team taking on Dungannon Youth. This promised to be a real tussle between two finely balanced teams. Dungannon were first out of the blocks putting Jack McClure, Jack Quinn and Luke McElkennon under sustained pressure at the back. Despite a wonder save from young McClure in goal it wasn’t too long before Dungannon took the lead after a scramble in the CYFC box. The early set back seemed to spur on the local team as the mid field line up of Tom Wilkinson, Jamie Kerrigan, Jack Kearney and Tom Bell started to gain control of the game. Some skilful play from Kearney and a clever through ball to Tom Bell brought an equaliser mid way through the first half. Bell went on to add to his tally with some brilliant play down the right wing matched by a clinical finish from distance.

The second half saw Peter McClean, James Bell, Chris Ward, Aaron Quinn and Luke Neeson join the action. The changes at half time took a little while to settle down as Dungannon battled back well creating some good chances of their own.
